President, Charting Your Personal Future
Professionally, I am a Professor Emeritus from the University of Cincinnati, and a Licensed Psychologist and Clinical Counselor.
Personally, I am a husband (whose wife is Lynn Rapin, also a psychologist), father of two adult children, grandfather of three, and "parent" of a Goldendoodle. Born and raised in Upstate New York and its North Country with my parents and 3 siblings, I've lived and worked in Cincinnati for 40 years. But the center of our geography can be found in our Northern Ontario island cottage.
I've spent my 40-year+ career teaching, researching, writing about, and practicing group work, ecological approaches, and prevention in counseling psychology, with the overall intent of improving lives and the world around us.
As President of Charting Your Personal Future, I assist prospective and current retirees to anticipate and prosper from the challenges that face everyone as they move into and through the important life transition of retirement.
Over my career at Illinois State University and the University of Cincinnati, I've published some 21 books and over 200 scholarly articles and papers on areas of expertise: Prevention, group work, and ecological counseling. For more about this work and other areas, please refer to the short-form of my professional vita/resume, which is available through this website; my full vita can be viewed through contacting me at: robert.conyne@chartingyourpersonalfuture.com.
